PressHelp Fight Breast Cancer -- Wear Pink on SundayAuburn Wild West Stampede Are You Tough Enough to Wear Pink?Join the Stampede, Wrangler, and Go Girl to raise funds to fight breast cancer on behalf of the South Placer UCD Breast Cancer Endowment. Sunday is Pink Day and everyone wearing pink will be eligible to win prizes from Wrangler, Montana Silversmith, Go Girl and more. You’ll be able to purchase caps, bandanas and pink support bracelets at the rodeo. Auburn 20-30 Club will have a Pink Drink Booth selling wine and Go Girl energy drink with 100% of the profits benefiting breast cancer research. The Wrangler® brand is using its strength and association with the rugged cowboy lifestyle to honor breast cancer survivors and the brave women and men who continue to battle the disease. The concept of tough cowboys wearing pink might sound funny, but it is what makes Tough Enough to Wear Pink so special. Pink symbolizes courage, strength and determination when the western industry comes together in the fight against breast cancer. Tough Enough to Wear Pink is a yearlong western-industry campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. It started with Wrangler and Sutter Home and has now extended to "pink" products from many rodeo sponsor icons such as Justin Boots, Montana Silversmiths, Coors, Dodge, Jack Daniel’s, Professional Choice and Resistol hats. The South Placer Breast Cancer Endowment, formed in July 2005, includes breast cancer survivors and community activists committed to fully funding the Breast Cancer Endowed Chair at the UC Davis Cancer Center. The members have pledged to raise $1.5 million during a five-year campaign. The group was also formed to raise awareness about breast health issues including early detection and resource availability in the South Placer area.
